After builders cleaning in Sutton
From £212 all in: two cleaners for three hours with their own equipment and detergents. Every extra cleaner-hour is £30.
- Crews of two or more, with their own kit
- 7 days a week, 8am to 7pm
- No payment online; a 50% deposit holds the date

Two in three Sutton households own their home (64.4%), so a lot of the building work here is an owner's extension, loft or new kitchen. Complete After Builders cleans up after it from £212 all in, and after the new flats going up round Sutton station too.

Sutton homes: semis, interwar terraces and town-centre flats
At the 2021 Census 37.1% of Sutton households lived in flats, 27.9% in semi-detached houses, 24.5% in terraces and 10.5% in detached houses, and only 20.3% rented privately. In Sutton Central ward 71.6% of households live in flats, and in the Council Tax area round the town centre 19.6% of homes with a recorded build date (1,090 properties) are from 2015 or later. Further out the houses take over: interwar semis and detached houses in Cheam, older village streets in Carshalton, and the terraces of the St Helier estate, where 62.2% of households in St Helier East ward live in a terraced house.
In a block the crew books the lift and works inside new units; in a 1930s semi the picture rails, bay sills and the long run of banister catch the dust; in a terrace with a knock-through the dust spreads the length of the ground floor. The crew works top to bottom and dusts twice, because the fine dust keeps falling after the first pass.
Extensions, lofts and dust complaints in Sutton
Sutton's building control charges for 2026/27 give a sense of the usual jobs: £1,260 for a single-storey extension under 40 square metres, £1,482 over 40, £1,140 for a loft conversion and £1,434 for one with dormers. Each of those ends with plaster dust through the house, since the loft stairs or the knocked-through wall open the works to every room.
The council names construction and development as the most common cause of dust complaints in the borough. Its environmental health team deals with construction noise too, can check sites and measure noise, and serves notices or goes to court where it has to. Dust from roadworks on the highway is outside its remit.
The national planning data service lists eight conservation areas: Sutton Town Centre High Street Crossroads, Carshalton Village, Beddington Village, Sutton Garden Suburb, Wallington Green, Beddington Parks, Cheam Village and Wrythe Green. Article 4 directions remove roof alteration rights on some properties (1984) and control changes to houses in Sutton Garden Suburb (2007), and since November 2024 a borough-wide direction means a small house cannot become an HMO without permission.
Skip, scaffold and parking suspension fees in Sutton
| Licence or permit | Sutton fee, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Skip on the road (skip companies only) | £153.48 per skip for 28 days, renewable at the same price |
| Scaffold or hoarding, non-principal road | £339.90 for four weeks |
| Scaffold or hoarding, principal road | £391.40 for four weeks |
| Scaffold or hoarding, several roads | £463.50 for four weeks |
| Scaffold deposit | £422.30 |
| Parking bay suspension | £40 per bay per day plus £112 admin, 7 working days' notice |
| Loading on a yellow line | £39 per vehicle per day, 2 working days' notice |
A skip on a drive or other private land needs no licence. Only registered companies can apply for scaffolding, after a site visit, and a 1.2 metre walkway has to stay clear. Scaffold coming down leaves grit on sills and glazing, so book the clean for after it has gone; inside glass, frames and tracks are part of window cleaning after the builders.
Kimpton Park Way and what counts as trade waste
Building waste from a home counts as trade waste whenever the person doing the work is not the homeowner, and it is illegal to put it in a household bin or take it to the Kimpton Park Way reuse and recycling centre. Even a homeowner's own DIY rubble is charged after the first two bags: £5.80 per 50-litre sack, at most six sacks a visit and four such visits in four weeks. Every car or van visit has to be booked, vans are limited to 8 bookings or 500 kg a year, and tippers and Luton vans are banned.
So the builder's skip or a licensed waste carrier takes the rubble, plasterboard and offcuts, and the crew comes after. We do not remove builders' waste. The council's bulky collection (£49 for one to three items, £81.80 for four to six) does not take kitchen units, worktops or builders' waste either, so the old units leave with the builder or a licensed carrier.
Parking a cleaning crew in Sutton
Sutton has only a handful of controlled parking zones, plus permit parking areas on some streets in Carshalton and Wallington. The council's list names the Belmont, Sutton Town Centre, Wellington Avenue, Longfellow and Park Lane (Cheam) zones, and the Collingwood Estate runs its own permits. Inside a zone, a household gets 50 free visitor voucher hours a year, with more at £35.50 for 50 hours; vouchers went virtual on 1 October 2026. Traders can buy a £240 annual permit that allows two hours at a time in resident, shared-use or permit-area bays, though never on a yellow line. A drive or a free space near the door is simplest, and the office checks which applies when it calls.
New homes in Sutton town centre and what a clean costs
The London Plan gives the Sutton opportunity area capacity for 5,000 homes and 3,500 jobs. On the former B&Q site a scheme of about 1,000 homes got planning approval in December 2023, with 217 social-rent homes due to the council from 2029, and the council's Elm Grove estate regeneration plans up to 277 new homes. New flats get a lighter clean: dust inside the units, grout haze on the wall tiles, film and labels on the glass.
Pricing is the same across the borough, £30 per cleaner-hour plus £32 per job for equipment and detergents, so for example:
- a new 1-bed flat by the station before handover: 2 cleaners for 3 hours, £212 all in;
- a 3-bed semi after a loft conversion: 2 cleaners for 5 hours, £332;
- a 4-bed house in Worcester Park after a rear extension: 3 cleaners for 4 hours, £392.
Each extra bathroom adds about an hour and a half. Heavy dust after new plaster is covered under a dust clean after sanding and plastering, and every size is on our prices.

Can my builder take the rubble to Kimpton Park Way?
No. Sutton treats building waste as trade waste when someone other than the homeowner does the work, and Kimpton Park Way will not take it. It goes in the skip or with a licensed carrier before the clean.
Who applies for a skip licence in Sutton?
The skip company: Sutton issues road licences only to skip firms, at £153.48 per skip for 28 days. A skip on your own drive needs no licence.
Does the crew need a parking permit in Sutton?
Only on streets with controls: the few controlled zones and the permit parking areas. Inside a zone, visitor voucher hours from the household's yearly allowance cover the van; elsewhere a drive or a free space does.
Can you clean straight after a loft conversion?
Yes, once the loft is finished, the rubbish is out and water, hot water and power are on. A 3-bed semi after a loft usually takes 2 cleaners for 5 hours: £332 all in; a new shower room up there adds about an hour and a half.
How much notice do you need in Sutton?
About a week is usually enough; Fridays and weekends book up first. Send photos when you book so the hours are agreed before the day.
