Edwardian and 1930s semis, and where the dust ends up
In Council Tax records for Wirral 003, the area round CH45 3LN, 27.7% of homes with a recorded build date are from 1900 to 1918 and 24.9% from 1919 to 1939. Only 10 homes there were built from 2015 onwards. Census 2021 puts 59.5% of Wallasey ward households in semi-detached houses, 11.3% in detached houses and 19.1% in flats, and 79.8% own their home.
So nearly every Wallasey job is an existing house being changed: a loft conversion, a kitchen opened into a rear extension, a bathroom moved upstairs. Loft work sends dust down the stairwell onto every landing, banister and door top below it. An extension spreads plaster dust through the ground floor and into the kitchen units, which the crew cleans inside once they are empty. Houses of this age often have picture rails, deep skirting and bay windows with wide sills, and all of them hold dust.
A 3-bed semi after a loft conversion takes 2 cleaners for 5 hours: £332 all in. A 4-bed with a second bathroom is usually 3 cleaners for 4 hours, £392, and the hourly maths (£30 per cleaner-hour plus £32 for equipment and detergents) is on our prices.
Rented homes in parts of Egremont and Seacombe need a licence
Wallasey ward is mostly owner-occupied (15.3% of households rent privately), but the river side of the town is different. Egremont South is one of the six areas under Wirral's selective licensing from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2030, at a standard fee of £605. Egremont North and Seacombe St Paul's have been under an earlier scheme since 1 April 2024, where the fee is £585. A landlord there who refurbishes between tenants needs both the licence and a clean before the let date: tell the office the date when you book.
New homes are few. The council's brownfield register lists the former municipal buildings on Seaview Road in Liscard for 100 homes, still without permission, and Dominick House on St Albans Road, Liscard, which got permission for 45 homes in May 2020. A light clean of a new 1-bed flat is 2 cleaners for 3 hours, £212 all in.
Visitor permits in Manor Lane and New Brighton
Some Wallasey streets sit inside residents parking schemes. Zone G on Manor Lane and Zone J behind the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton came after 2007, so their permits cost £10 a year; each household can hold one visitor permit, and temporary permits are applied for online. Lend the crew that permit, or leave the drive clear, and the van can stay by the door for the whole clean.
The crew does not take rubble, old bathroom suites or plasterboard away. The tip at Bidston takes all three from residents and is the only Wirral site that accepts paint, but trade waste is refused there, so whatever the builder pulled out leaves in their skip or with a licensed carrier before the clean.
Wirral rules here, Sefton rules across the water
Skip and scaffold fees, building hours and the rest of the council layer are on the rest of Wirral. To the south, central Birkenhead has a controlled parking zone seven days a week: see builders cleans in Birkenhead. Across the mouth of the Mersey, Bootle and Crosby are in Sefton, with their own permits and tips; the prices stay the same.
For carpets that sat under the loft dust for weeks, carpet cleaning after building work is an add-on from £36 a bedroom.
What a builders clean costs here
CleanersHours£30£32 kit
Every crew brings its own vacuums, cloths, ladders and detergents; the £32 covers them once per job. The table shows our usual starting point for a standard refurbishment. Lighter or heavier work moves it, and you can set your own crew and hours in the form.

Anything else? Ring 07418 351088.
Can you clean the loft room before the rest of the house is finished?
Only once nobody is working anywhere in the house. Dust from a trade still sanding downstairs rises up the stairs into the finished room, so book the clean after the last trade leaves.
Do you clean inside the new kitchen cupboards?
Yes, inside and out, once they are empty; see kitchen and bathroom cleaning for what a new room gets. Appliances are wiped outside; cleaning inside an oven or other appliance is extra.
Do I need to send photos?
Photos or a short video by email usually let the office fix the crew and hours. A site visit for a big or unusual job costs £20.
