Around CH48 4DZ in West Kirby, six in ten homes with a recorded build date went up before 1940, and about one household in ten lives in a flat in a converted house. Complete After Builders cleans them after the works from £212 all in; a 2-bed flat there is usually £272 after a refurbishment.

West Kirby in numbers

Victorian and Edwardian houses, some split into flats

Council Tax records for Wirral 026 put 21.8% of homes with a recorded build date before 1900, 20.2% from 1900 to 1918 and 19.9% from 1919 to 1939; only 2.7% are from 2015 or later. The Census ward there is Hoylake and Meols, where 26.1% of households live in flats: 12.7% in purpose-built blocks and 9.7% in flats in converted or shared houses. Semis (36.4%) and detached houses (19.0%) make up most of the rest, and 16.9% of households rent privately.

In a flat in a converted house the crew carries vacuums, ladders and detergents up a shared stair, so leave a key for the street door. Dust from the works settles on picture rails, door tops and, where the sashes survive, deep in the sash boxes.

A 2-bed flat after a refurbishment takes 2 cleaners for 4 hours: £272 all in. After a full refit with new plaster throughout it is usually 2 cleaners for 5 hours, £332. For a film of sanding dust on every surface, see a dust clean after sanding and plastering.

Meols Drive villas and the old village

Two conservation areas lie within 800 m of CH48 4DZ. Meols Drive, between West Kirby and Hoylake, was designated in 2004 and enlarged in March 2025 with a new appraisal; the council describes large villas backing onto the golf course, mostly individual Arts and Crafts designs in big mature plots, built as the towns grew in the late Victorian and Edwardian years. The West Kirby conservation area is the old village core, with red sandstone walls, woodland and unmade lanes. Caldy and Thurstaston, just south, have an Article 4 direction of their own.

A large villa after an extension takes a bigger crew: a 5-bed is usually 3 cleaners for 5 hours, £482 all in. Original joinery and old glass get a product that suits them, paint drips come off where they will come off without harm, and the crew points out anything that would not at the walk-round. Labels and stickers come off new glazing as part of the clean: window cleaning after the builders has the detail.

The West Kirby tip, Ashton Court and the council rules

West Kirby has one of Wirral's three tips. Residents can bring rubble, plasterboard and soil, by booked slot if they come in a van, but paint has to go to Bidston and trade waste is refused. The crew does not take builders' waste either, so the skip or a licensed carrier clears it before the clean.

New homes are rare here. Ashton Court, which appears on the council's brownfield register as two entries under one March 2020 permission, and 7 Caldy Road (five homes) are the larger schemes. A light clean of a new 2-bed flat is 2 cleaners for 3 hours, £212 all in.

Skip and scaffold fees, building hours and parking schemes are on after builders cleaning in Wirral. Along the Dee shore, Heswall is mostly detached houses; on the north coast, Wallasey (CH45) is Edwardian and 1930s semis. Every total for every size is on the full price list.

What a builders clean costs here

CleanersHours£30£32 kit

Every crew brings its own vacuums, cloths, ladders and detergents; the £32 covers them once per job. The table shows our usual starting point for a standard refurbishment. Lighter or heavier work moves it, and you can set your own crew and hours in the form.

West Kirby builders clean questions

Anything else? Ring 07418 351088.

Do you clean the communal stairs in a converted house?

If you book them. The clean covers the rooms you ask for, so add the shared hall and stairs when you send photos, and check with the freeholder or the other flats first.

Can the crew start while the decorator finishes the woodwork?

No. The painting has to be done and dry enough to clean round, the decorator packed up and gone, and water, power and lights on.

Is outside glass included on a West Kirby villa?

No. The inside of every window is part of the clean; outside glass is an add-on from £66, done only where it is safe to reach from inside or the ground.
