Brentford's housing is young: most homes round Brentford West date from 1973 to 2014, and the brownfield register's largest site nearby, south of the High Street, was permissioned in 2019 for 876 homes. A 2-bed new-build handover clean by Complete After Builders usually takes 2 cleaners for 3 hours, £212 all in.

Brentford in numbers

Handover cleans in new flats by the canal and the High Street

Brentford's building sites are mostly blocks of flats, from the High Street to the canal. Beside the Grand Union Canal, the Canal & River Trust's Brentford Lock West scheme on a 6.4-hectare site is planned for 520 homes; its second phase of 157 flats and townhouses was finished in late 2018. Council housing comes next: 182 homes at the Charlton House and Albany House estate, approved in March 2026, where the council expected building to start that September.

A new flat at handover is a lighter job than a refurbishment, but it has its own list. The crew peels protective film off doors and appliances, takes labels and stickers off the glazing, vacuums sawdust out of the kitchen units before wiping them inside and out and lifts sealant and adhesive smears from tiles and sanitaryware where they will come off. If the block has a managing agent who books the lift or the loading bay, tell the office the rules when you send your details.

Victorian terraces north of the High Street and the houses round The Butts

The older Brentford is small but specific. St Paul's Brentford conservation area, designated on 28 February 1989, is a largely intact late Victorian and Edwardian new town north of the High Street, and the council's appraisal describes the wider district as mostly two-storey terraces and suburban estates. In Brentford West ward 33.6% of households live in terraced houses, against 20.5% across Hounslow. The Butts, a conservation area since November 1968, is a group of mostly three-storey houses first built around 1670, with Georgian neighbours set round a large irregular square that once took the overflow of Brentford's market.

In a refurbished terrace the dust from a rear extension or a knocked-through ground floor gets into the cornices, the picture rails and the top of every door and sash box. The crew starts at that height with ladders up to about 2 m, works down to the skirting and dusts the same ledges twice, because the fine dust drifts back down. Original boards and old tiled hallways get products chosen for the surface. Paint spots on them are tried carefully, and the crew tells you on the day what will not come off.

How much does a builders clean cost in Brentford?

A 2-bed new-build flat at handover usually needs 2 cleaners for 3 hours: £212 all in. A 3-bed terrace after a refurbishment is more often 2 cleaners for 5 hours at £332, and a second bathroom adds roughly an hour and a half of cleaner time. Each total is £30 per cleaner-hour plus £32 for equipment and detergents; our prices show the rest. For big glazed doors onto a balcony, see window cleaning after the builders. A cloudy grout haze across a whole new floor needs the hard floor deep clean, an extra at £6 a m², covered under grout residue on new floors.

Hounslow says occupiers of many new-build homes cannot get parking permits because of a planning condition or a legal agreement. If your flat is one of them, ask the managing agent for a visitor space; otherwise paid parking is passed on at cost. The TW8 postcode also takes in Northfield ward in Ealing, so some addresses follow Ealing's parking and waste rules rather than those for the rest of Hounslow.

The crew covers Brentford with its neighbours: Kew across the bridge, Chiswick to the east along the High Road and Isleworth beyond Syon Park.

Every crew brings its own vacuums, cloths, ladders and detergents; the £32 covers them once per job. The table shows our usual starting point for a standard refurbishment. Lighter or heavier work moves it, and you can set your own crew and hours in the form.

Questions people ask

Anything else? Ring 07418 351088.

Do you clean new-build flats in Brentford before the buyer moves in?

Yes. Handover cleans are lighter than a refurbishment: dust in units and on ledges, film, labels and smears on new glass and tiles. A 2-bed flat usually takes 2 cleaners for 3 hours.

My new flat cannot get a parking permit. Where will the crew park?

Ask the managing agent for a visitor bay or a loading space and tell the office when you book. If there is no free option, paid parking is passed on at cost.

Can the crew start while the snagging trades are still on site?

No. Snagging has to be finished, with tools and rubbish out and water, power and lights on. Book the clean for the day after the last trade leaves.

Will the paint spots on my floorboards come off?

Often, but not always. The crew tries with the right product for the surface and tells you on the day which marks will not lift. Photos sent beforehand help them bring the right products.
