Teddington has ten conservation areas within 800 metres of the middle of Teddington ward, from Teddington Lock to Bushy Park, and homes from every period in between. Complete After Builders cleans a 3-bed Teddington house after a refurbishment with 2 cleaners for 5 hours, £332 all in.

Teddington in numbers

The High Street conservation area and the parades

High Street Teddington was designated on 7 September 1982. Its appraisal notes an unusual number of original shopfronts: on the north side mostly two-storey brick buildings from the 18th century and Victorian years, facing three-storey Edwardian shopping parades in red and yellow brick on the south side. The other nine conservation areas nearby include Park Road, Broad Street, The Grove, Waldegrave Park and Church Road, and 24 listed buildings stand within the same 800 metres, among them Bushy House and St Alban's Church, both Grade II*.

If the job is above a shop on the High Street, tell the office how the flat is reached: a rear door and a steep stair add time, because the crew carries vacuums, ladders and detergents up by hand. A shop refit on the street itself is a builders clean for offices and shops, charged at £30 per cleaner-hour plus £32; book it for after the shopfitters have left.

Teddington Lock, river flats and the older streets

Teddington Lock conservation area covers the riverside core. The lock and weir date from 1812 and the footbridge from 1888, and boathouses, moorings and slipways now sit beside newer blocks of flats along the Thames. Over that footbridge is Ham, still in Richmond upon Thames, though the streets south of Ham Common are in Kingston.

Teddington's homes come from every decade. Of the homes with a recorded build date in the council tax figures for the area, 27.4% were built before 1900, 18.6% from 1900 to 1918 and 20.7% from 1945 to 1972, with 6.7% from 2000 to 2014. At the 2021 Census 45.3% of households in Teddington ward lived in flats (33.5% in purpose-built blocks), 26.4% in terraces and 21.1% in semis, and 65.3% owned their home.

A Victorian terrace means plaster dust in cornices and sash boxes; a riverside flat means a lift to book and a balcony to sweep. In both, the hardest part is the bathroom: new wall tiles carry grout haze and the shower screen has sealant smears, and cleaning a new kitchen or bathroom explains what the crew can lift.

Small new blocks round Cromwell Road

Teddington's new homes come in small blocks. Sheldon House on Cromwell Road got permission for 27 homes on 14 July 2025, and the council's brownfield register lists a few more sites for new homes nearby.

A handover clean in a small new block is often booked to a developer's deadline. The crew wipes fine dust out of every kitchen cupboard, takes labels and film off windows and doors, cleans the sanitaryware and mops the floors. The developer or site manager then walks round with the crew before it leaves.

Parking in zone T and builders clean prices in Teddington

Teddington's main zone (T) is controlled only from 8.30am to 10.30am on weekdays, so a morning start needs a trader permit or a space on the drive for those two hours; most other Teddington zones run 10am to noon or 10am to 4.30pm on weekdays, and the High Street pay and display bays (M4) run 9am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday. Paid parking is passed on at cost.

A 3-bed house after a refurbishment usually takes 2 cleaners for 5 hours: £332 all in. A 2-bed flat after a refurbishment takes 2 cleaners for 4 hours, £272, and a new 2-bed flat at handover is often £212. Each bathroom after the first adds about an hour and a half. The sum is £30 per cleaner-hour plus £32 for equipment and detergents; our prices list every size. North along the river, builders cleans in Twickenham work the same way, and council fees across Richmond upon Thames are on the borough page.

What a builders clean costs here

CleanersHours£30£32 kit

Every crew brings its own vacuums, cloths, ladders and detergents; the £32 covers them once per job. The table shows our usual starting point for a standard refurbishment. Lighter or heavier work moves it, and you can set your own crew and hours in the form.

Teddington builders clean questions

Anything else? Ring 07418 351088.

We are in zone T. Does the crew's van need a permit all day?

No, only for the controlled hours, 8.30am to 10.30am on weekdays. A trader permit or a space on the drive covers it.

Do you clean new-build flats before the buyers move in?

Yes. Send the number of flats, their sizes and the handover date, and the office will set the crew and hours for each unit. Work in the block has to be finished in the flats being cleaned.

Will the crew wash the walls after the decorators?

No. The crew dusts skirting, frames, doors, switches and sockets and takes paint spots off where they will come away, but walls are not washed.

Can you clean the carpets at the same visit?

Yes, as an add-on: a bedroom carpet is £36 and a living room £43. Carpets left down during the works often hold fine dust deep in the pile.
